The Online Portal
Scor3card® is an online sustainability tracking and assessment tool. The program sets a rigorous standard for sustainable activities, but presents them in an approachable way. The Scor3card is composed of 55 directives separated into seven categories. The categories are:
- Communication
- Community Resilience
- Energy
- Healthy Work Environment
- Material Management
- Transportation
- Water
Scor3card members respond to directives within these categories with explanations and illustrations of how that sustainable directive is being enacted at their organization.
Cornerstones
Of these 55 directives, certain directives are labeled as Cornerstones. Cornerstones are Scor3card activities that are foundational to a sustainability plan for any organization. These directives include: Communication & Promotion, Benchmarking, Employee Engagement, and Material Management. These directives are integral as Scor3card teams begin enacting and communicating changes within their organizations. Each Scor3card participant is strongly encouraged to complete their Cornerstones, first and foremost.
Key Performance Indicators
Scor3card participants can collect and track the impacts of sustainable activities using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). KPIs collect empirical data; tracking the pounds diverted, dollars saved, and people engaged. Scor3card participants can share that data with shareholders, stakeholders, neighbors and more. Multi-site and multi-year reporting is available for 86 KPIs to support ESG disclosures.
Verification
Scor3card is a verification, not a certification, program. Scor3card participants have shared that they believe a verification model is favorable to a certification model because it encourages their employees’ creativity and problem solving skills. Scor3card adheres to a verification rather than certification model. This means that we can keep the price of our program low, while allowing participants to express creativity as they apply sustainable activities at their organizations.
